Graveyard Project


Assalamun Alaikum,

As you all know Mehfil-e-Murtaza has the recognition of being amongst those institutions who have played foremost role in the socio-economic upliftment of the Shia Community at large in the field of religious occasions, education, housing and various other activities, thanks to the whole-hearted support extended by the philanthropists and donors, its members and volunteers.

Objective :

Mehfil has embarked upon, a proud initiative of taking up the task of providing Graveyard facility for all Shias without discrimination. Alhamdulillah with the Blessings of Allah (S.W.T.) and Chahardah Masoomeen (A.S.) we have succeeded in acquiring a One Acre Plot of Land situated near SUPARCO, Hub River Road, Karachi. The foundation stone of this Project (which will accommodate approx. 1200 graves) was laid on the auspicious occasion of Wiladat of Samin-ul-Aimmah Imam Ali Raza (A.S.) Friday 17th Zilqaad, 1420 A.H., February 18, 2000.

2nd Phase :

The completion of 2nd phase is attained which comprise of Water Storage Tanks, Watchman / Grave Maker’s Room, Grave Area Development including 132 graves and basic amenities. This phase is completed at a cost of Rs.2.0 million. Appeal for Funds to all Members of the Community: In order to accomplish this noble task, we request your kind co-operation by contributing generously to this cause, which is the beginning of the journey towards the ultimate destiny. We humbly request your donations in multiples of Rs. 3,000/- (US $ 50/-) per grave. This support will go long way to assist in meeting further development cost. It can be in the name of any of your deceased family member(s) so that the Marhum(s) may continue to avail Sawab-e-Jariah. We are very much confident of your support and hope you will make special endeavours and rise on this hour of need to offer as much assistance as possible.
